Xi Kappa Chapter

Chicago, Illinois - Chartered: July 10, 1982


The Xi Kappa Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was chartered July 10, 1982 by 22 amazing women at Chicago State University in Chicago, Illinois. Lambda Mu Omega is the sponsoring graduate chapter. Several Xi Kappa members have served on international committees, and several chapter members have won the highest GPA award for central region. The ladies of Xi Kappa were honored at the 2015 Central Regional conference for their academic success.

Xi Kappa is known for its contributions and service to the community. Historically, the chapter has annually adopted an international student. The chapter has partnered and financially supported many organizations including the Cleveland Job Corps, Urban League, UNCF, South Central Community Center, National Council of Negro Women, NAACP, and EAF. Xi Kappa has reigned supreme by holding the highest sorority GPA at CSU. They currently hold the highest chapter GPA overall.

Xi Kappa successfully implemented all targets for the 2014-2015 year. The chapter exhibits all of the qualities that bring to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. the pride and dignity she deserves. Xi Kappa Chapter has and will continue in its role of bringing forth excellent educated women who make a positive impact on society.
